Ogun Police Arraign Anthony Joshua’s Driver Over Manslaughter, Reckless Driving • Case adjourns to 20th January

Ogun Police Arraign Anthony Joshua’s Driver, Kayode Mobolaji Adeniyi Over Manslaughter, Reckless Driving • Case adjourns to 20th January…

 

 

The Ogun state police command has arraigned today before a High Court in Sagamu for manslaughter, reckless driving and others, Kayode Mobolaji Adeniyi, the 47 years old driver of Anthony Joshua who drove the SUV lexus that claimed the lives of two others in a fatal auto crash, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

The driver was charged on four counts, including: Dangerous driving causing death, contrary to Section 5(1) of the Federal Highway Act, Cap F: 135, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 (as applicable in Ogun State), Reckless and Negligent driving, contrary to Section 6(1) of the same Act, Driving without due care and attention, causing bodily harm and damage to property, contrary to Section 7(1) of the Act and Driving without a valid National Driver’s Licence, contrary to Section 10(1) of the Federal Highway Act.

Recall that Adeniyi, who was the driver that conveyed Anthony Joshua and his friends, Kevin ‘Lateef’ Ayodele and Sina Ghami was earlier arrested and questioned at the Eleweran Police Station, where he gave his account of the circumstances surrounding the crash and was subsequently charged to court for reckless driving and manslaughter.

In a brief press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Ogun State Police Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi stated that, “The Ogun State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the driver of the Lexus SUV involved in the Anthony Joshua accident case, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode (male), aged 46, was charged to the Sagamu Magistrate Court today, 2nd January, 2026 and the case has been adjourned to 20th January, 2026.”

Meanwhile, the bodies of Anthony Joshua’s friends have been flown out of Nigeria to their families for burial plans.

Anthony Joshua, a two-time heavyweight boxing champion, has been discharged from the hospital.
