NSCDC HOLDS MAIDEN PUBLIC RELATIONS TRAINING IN LAGOS COMMAND

Commandant Ayeni Paul Kolawole, Commandant, NSCDC Lagos State Command

In line with the Commandant’s directive and approval, Commandant Ayeni Paul Kolawole, for a training to develop the Public Relations unit of the Command and promote the functions of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Lagos State Command, a three day training with the theme: “Building the image of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps through inter – agency collaboration,” has been scheduled to commence between the 25th to the 27th ( Monday to Wednesday) of January, 2021.

The training is being put together by the Public Relations Unit and coordinated by the Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Corps I Abolurin Oluwaseun Olumide and his team, in a bid to teach officers, on new skills in public relations that will help shape and build them to become better officers and men to the admiration of the Nigerian populace. The training is also aimed at fostering inter – agency collaboration among security agencies especially, in order to combat the present menace caused by insecurity challenges in our country.

Moreso, in order to achieve this set goals itemised above, we also didn’t walk alone as we involved some arrays of media agencies and facilitators ranging from the academia, security and the media to impact the participants with knowledge at the training.

The Commandant, Ayeni Paul Kolawole MSC MBA ACIA ANIM, was ably represented today, in the opening day by the amiable Deputy Commandant in charge of Administration, Apeh Daniel. Deputy Commandant Apeh Daniel gave his charge, by advising the participants who came from the 20 divisions and 6 Area Commands of the corps in the state, to take the training seriously and pay good attention, in order to make the best of it. He further said that the public relations training is first of its kind, in the command and the Public Relations Officer, of the command should be commended for the good work he has embarked upon.

Finally, the Public Relations Officer, can not but express his joy towards this laudable achievement under the watch of the Commandant, Ayeni Paul Kolawole MSC MBA ACIA ANIM, NSCDC Lagos State Command, for his strong support towards the training and retraining of officers and men in Command. He also believed that this kind of opportunities are good to sharpen the knowledge and performance base of the officers and men now and in future.
