NSCDC CG’s SPECIAL SQUAD NABS RAILWAY VANDALS, RECOVER LARGE CACHE OF RAIL TRACKS

The Head of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) CG’s Special Intelligence Squad, DC Apollos Dandaura has announced the recovery of a large cache of rail equipment which were stolen from various parts of the country. National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report that the rail tracks were recovered from two incidents.

According to a brief statement from the Head of the CG’s SIS, DC Appollos S. Dandaura showed: ‘At about 2330hrs of 2nd July, 2023, acting on a credible Intelligence that some suspected rail line vandalise were loading vandalized railway track irons at a bush, around Agwan-Kuje village, Kadarko area in Keana LGA of Nasarawa State, operatives of the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’s SIS) swang into immediate action and succeeded in intercepting one long open body Man Diesel trailer truck already loaded with over five hundred [500] pieces of vandalized rail track railway iron believed to be owned by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) and concealed under sacks of groundnut dust. The exhibits recovered were One MAN DIESEL 12 tires open body long trailer truck and a arge number of vandalized railway track iron loaded in the impounded truck and concealed inside saw dust.’

 

In the process, five suspects were arrested namely: Martins Aza, truck owner, male, 47yrs, Benue state, Makurdi LGA, Benue state; Sunday Adinya, manager, male, 35yrs, Makurdi LGA, Benue state; Ismail Idris, driver, male, 20yrs, Alkaleri LGA, Bauchi state; Abale Mohammed Ismail, motorboy, male, 22yrs, Nasarawa LGA, Kano State; and Umar Adamu, mechanic, male, 25yrs, Lafia LGA, Nasarawa State. The Five arrested all confessed to the crime under investigation.

 

Similarly, at about 1611hrs of 3rd July 2023, around NYSC orientation camp, Keffi- Abuja express way, Keffi LGA Area of Nasarawa State, NAOSNP gathered that another set of three vandals were arrested with large quantities of vandalized rail tracks inside a J5 Boxer Bus concealed inside Rice chaff. The suspects are Mohammed Alhaji, driver, 24 years from Alkaleri LGA, Bauchi; Abdullahi Mohammed, motorboy, 23 years, male from Alkaleri LGA, Bauchi; and Adamu Mohammed, a motorboy, 20 years, male from Alkaleri LGA, Bauchi.

The suspects confessed to have loaded the rail track from a location around Oturkpo LGA of Benue state and were conveying it to Kwara state.
