NSA, NCTC Hand Over Brig.Gen Tsiga, Amb. Yohanna, 17 Other Rescued Kidnap Victims, Weapons to CDS, General Musa

The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the office of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), ONSA handed over the 19 rescued kidnap victims (6 males and 13 females) as well as the recovered assorted weapons to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Gwabin Musa for further exploitation and necessary actions.

The victims who had spent 56 days in captivity were officially handed over to the CDS, General Musa on Thursday at the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Office of the National Security Adviser, in Abuja.

It would be recalled that on On 27th March 2025, a Joint team of Security & intelligence Force during its routine anti-banditry and-anti-kidnapping operations around Kaduna, Niger and Kogi States as well as contiguous communities, rescued 20 kidnap victims (6 males and 13 females).

The victims included Ambassador Gideon Yohanna, the former Director-General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga (retired), and 17 others, including a child.

Both the NSA, Mr Ribadu and General Musa pledged to remain relentless until the criminals are wiped out and normalcy is restored in the country.

“As a result of the work of our armed forces and other security services, we can rescue and bring back our own people,” he said.

“This time, it involves important personalities who served this country. We thank God for their lives, we are grateful to those who made it possible.

“This is an ongoing operation, and we are doing it quite silently. we will go after the bad ones.”

Notable amongst the rescued kidnap victims was Ambassador Gideon Yohanna, who was kidnapped on 22 January 25 at Dutsen Bako village in Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State.

Also, on 2 February 25, six of the rescued victims were kidnapped at Angwanpa Village in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.

Furthermore, the remaining 12 rescued victims were abducted at Majagada Village in Lere LGA of the same State. During the rescue missions, the JTF recovered assorted military weapons. At the end of the profiling and debriefing of the rescued kidnap victims, After undergoing medical attention, they are ready to be reunited with their families and Communities.
