‘The way forward for youth development in Nigeria, in particular, and Africa, in general, is for sound policies to be in place and backed up by political will as well as equipping youths for greater service to Nigeria’ were the words of the CEO of Arc-View Investments Ltd, Mr. Olusegun Oshundairo when he addressed Lagos lawmakers at a special plenary tagged: held in honor of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he marked his 70th anniversary.
While eulogizing one of Nigeria’s greatest ever politicians, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting youths in various capacities and spheres, Mr. Oshundairo believes that he will do more if he gets the presidency come 2023.
Speaking on Asiwaju, the real estate mogul said: ‘I will like to congratulate Asiwaju, our incoming president because of what he has been since 1999. I recall he had a cabinet with youths, 33-year-olds, 32-year-olds. That’s someone that we should support.’

‘He understands the system very well. He understands the economy very well. He is not tribalistic. He knows how to connect. He is globally connected’, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.
Further speaking at the Lagos House of Assembly about youth development, Mr. Oshundairo added that 70% of the population in Nigeria is youthful, ‘so it is very important that we have to look into that direction and see how to engage the youths very well. We have highly educated, highly literate, intellectual, and self-confident youths.’

He urged the lawmakers to make policies which could help youths. He said: ‘If our youths are not well-educated then the future is not guaranteed. It has been established that no nation can develop beyond the quality of its youths. The youths need guidance, support, and encouragement without which they would be lost and fall into social vices and crime such as examination malpractices, drug abuse, etc.’
‘Therefore youths need to be well-educated and trained to actualize their dream and contribute to national development. Lagos state is doing well, we can do more by supporting the youth.’
‘The possibility of introducing and integrating group study into curriculum of schools and tertiary institutions should be explored as this will expose young people to the challenges confronting them nationwide’, he advised.

The CEO of Arc-view then advised youths on how to help themselves. ‘The youths in Nigeria need to demand and press for infusion in the development process and seek for assistance locally and internationally.’
‘They must also exhibit initiatives among and between themselves. The youth should galvanize, mobilize, and synergize their efforts by establishing good and effective networking and linkages with various projects in sectors such as agriculture, ICT, real estate, industrial production, and education’, Trek Africa Newspaper can report about some other ideas Mr. Olusegun Oshundairo adduced.
