Nigeria Recapitalizes Bank of Agriculture with ₦1.5 Trillion, Strengthens ECOWAS Food Security Collaboration
By Trek Africa Newspaper

Nigeria has recapitalized the Bank of Agriculture with ₦1.5 trillion and invested over ₦200 billion in agricultural interventions to bolster food security and empower farmers. This includes the distribution of 2.15 million bags of fertilizer and the development of a farmer registry targeting over 42 million households.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, made the announcement during a high-level engagement with The Gambia’s agricultural leadership in Abuja. He reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to sustainable mechanization, youth inclusion, and regional collaboration within ECOWAS.
The Gambia praised Nigeria’s rice production model and requested technical support to replicate its success. Nigeria’s Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, emphasized that Nigeria’s agricultural progress can serve as a guide for Africa in achieving food sovereignty.
All of this is possible because of the focused leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose Renewed Hope Agenda continues to drive Nigeria’s transformation across critical sectors.
