NBA PRESIDENCY: UBANI PRAISES OUTGOING OLUMIDE AKPATA; COMPARES HIM WITH LATE ALAO AKA-BASHORUN

The recent election of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has been conducted in a civil manner. Winners have emerged into various positions and are ready come August to infuse their ideas and impetus into the administration of the association of the learned fellows.
However, the outgoing administration have done credibly by all standards. Penning his appreciation to President Olumide Akpata, the Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development (NBA-SPIDEL), Dr. Monday Onyekachi Ubani compared his 1-year leadership of the foremost association with that of late Alao Aka Bashorun.
In the brief press note released to Trek Africa Newspaper, Dr. Ubani who has experienced quite a number of leadership styles by various NBA presidents shared: ‘After Alao Bashorun’s presidency in NBA, there were innovative NBA Presidents like Olisa Agbakoba SAN, classy like Olanipekun SAN, the courageous ones like Rotimi Akeredolu SAN and JB Daudu SAN, gentle like Okey Nwali SAN, AB Mahmoud SAN and Paul Usoro SAN, Transformative like Alegeh SAN but the best after Alao Aka-Bashorun, if you ask me, is Mr OLUMIDE AKPATA, the outgoing president. He will be exiting the presidency of NBA in grand style and blaze of glory.’
‘The Annual General Meeting of the Annual General Conference which is on the 25th of August, 2022 in Lagos remains a day of eulogizing his sterling and courageous leadership ever witnessed in the noble profession after Alao Aka Bashorun.
In doing this, no accusation of eye service or hypocrisy can stand. Olu deserves encomiums meritoriously.That I know and can attest. Believe me, I AM PROUD TO KNOW HIM PERSONALLY’, he shared with Trek Africa Newspaper.
Ubani urged lawyers and other Nigerians, ‘Let us not lose hope IN NBA and by extension IN NIGERIA! We will get to OUR DESERVED DESTINATION ONE DAY! Keep faith.
