A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, made an emergency landing in a farmland at Utur Tse-Igboji, Bar Council Ward, Makurdi, Benue State.

According to a resident, Stephen Ikpam, the aircraft was forced to land in the area following a suspected technical fault.

Ikpam said residents rushed to the scene to assist the officers on board and expressed relief that all occupants survived the incident.

He described the emergency landing as a potentially tragic incident that could have resulted in loss of lives if the aircraft had crashed.

“All lives on board were saved by the grace of God,” Ikpam said, while thanking God for protecting the personnel.

He also prayed for the continued safety of Nigeria’s security personnel.

The Nigerian Air Force has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
