Multiple-Vehicle Crash On Otedola Bridge

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, has confirmed a serious multiple-vehicle road traffic crash that occurred in the early hours of today, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.
The crash, which occurred at about 0555hrs, involved three commercial trucks and three adult male occupants. One person sustained injuries, while no fatality was recorded.
According to the SRC Oluwadamilola Jayeola, Sector Public Education Officer, the preliminary findings indicate that the crash was caused by speeding, which led to loss of control, despite the road being smooth at the time of the incident.
FRSC operatives responded promptly to the distress call within five minutes of the report. The injured victim was rescued and conveyed to an emergency hospital for medical attention.
FRSC personnel are currently working in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, the Fire Service and other sister agencies to manage traffic and ensure the safe towing and removal of the crashed vehicles to restore free flow of traffic along the corridor.
Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander KEHINDE G. Hamzat has strongly advised to observe prescribed speed limits, maintain lane discipline, and exercise caution, especially along Otedola Bridge taking into consideration of the steep and the bridge sections, to prevent avoidable crashes.
