After two years of being off the scene necessitated by the coronavirus pandemic, Mouka Foam’s annual Content Drivers’ Immersion Session held today in Lagos. The platform which availed the manufacturing giant the opportunity to engage and interact with media professionals also enabled it to talk about the progress it has made in the past two years.

During the period, Nigeria’s no. 1 brand in the mattress and beddings industry, Mouka made a transition of ownership from private equity to Dolidol International Group. Also, the organization made a change in management. A leading finance and corporate governance expert, Dr. Adesegun A. Akin-Olugbade has joined the board as new Vice Chairman. Also, the former Managing Director, Ray Murphy has transited to Non-Executive Director status while Mr. Femi Fapohunda is now the Managing Director.

Speaking on the big developments, Mr. Fapohunda allayed the fears of the public that the changes which happened were not because the brand is under distress but rather to reinforce the position of the brand in the marketplace. He said: ‘We will leverage the significant foam science, technical and engineering expertise of Dolidol to boost Mouka’s operations and the quality of its product portfolio. This means consumers and trade partners can look forward to new and groundbreaking innovations due to the technological expertise of Dolidol. This strategic ownership will also create additional investments in expanding the Mouka footprint within Nigeria and beyond our borders.’

On his new role, Fapohunda shared: The board of Mouka has fully endorsed me to lead and spearhead the Mouka business growth going forward. I am primed and ready for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. With the support of the Mouka management team, I am confident that I will keep the flame of success blazing even as the company moves to the next level of progress.’

Two professional institutions gave their endorsement on the ergonomic standard and economic quality of the range of products of Mouka Foam. Led by their Presidents, Dr. Nina Chigbo and Dr. Teslim Onigbinde respectively, the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) and National Association of Orthopaedic Manual Therapists (NAOMT) gave their nod for the technical and scientific research which has gone into the making of all Mouka products.

Also present at the media interactive session were the Chief Commercial Officer of Mouka Foam, Mr. Dimeji Osingunwa; the Country Lead, Seyi Edward; and the Chief Financial Officer, Mr Idowu Adedokun. Others were the head of PR agency, TPT Ltd., Mr. Bayo Adeosun and so on.
