By Trek Africa Newspaper
The Minister of Finance, Wale Edun has described the maiden Police Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons as a “joyful gathering” where officers can relax and brainstorm together.
Mr. Edun stated this on Friday, at the International Confluence Center (ICC), venue of the Police Christmas Carol.
The Minister while commending the IGP Olukayode Egbetokun urged him to “sustain” the initiative.
He said, “What I required of you is that, you continue with what you have started, sustain it and even leave a legacy by making provisions that others coming behind will continue with it. This is really a good thing, you have done well.”
However, the IGP has assured Nigerians of adequate security deployment across the country to forestall any security breach during the yuletide season.
Egbetokun disclosed this in an interview with newsmen after the Carols of Nine Lessons.
He said, “This Carol is the first of its type by the Nigeria Police Force; the Christmas Carol is an avenue to bring Nigerians together to celebrate, and be encouraged to live peacefully with one another.
“Before this Carol, we have made our adequate deployments across the country to ensure that Nigerians are safe and that they enjoy the festivities in peace and harmony.”
