One of them is the brilliant and pretty Lagos businesswoman called Dame Winifred Akpani, a seasoned Chartered Accountant and accomplished Business Executive who happen to be the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Petroleum & Gas co. Ltd, an indigenous petroleum products marketing company that is doing quite well.

She is married to Walter Akpani, MD of Providus Bank. As a director of several other business ranging from the banking sector to the travel and immigration industry, she is indeed a thorough bred professional who is driven by integrity, ambition, hard work and excellence.

Furthermore, she holds a B.SC degree in Mathematics from the University of Benin, and a post graduate diploma in Computer Science from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State.

Starting her career as a trainee accountant in an audit firm, before joining Flame Petroleum & Gas Company Limited, where she rose through management and became an Executive Director in 1997. She subsequently left and founded Northwest Petroleum & Gas Company Limited in 1998.

Interestingly, over the years Northwest Petroleum & Gas Company Limited has grown to be a solid brand with International repute.

The Company has vast experience in the importation, supply, distribution and storage of Petroleum Products and is also actively involved in the official export of Crude Oil from Nigeria being one of twenty-one Companies approved by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for allocation and export of Nigerian Crude Oil.

In addition, with her personable personality she is a humanitarian that is actively involved in charity donations that posed to better the state of humanity. She is indeed a visionary billionaire with the heart of gold.
