MEDVIEW AIRLINE DECLARES PROFIT, APPOINTS NEW DIRECTORS

Last week, the board of directors, and shareholders of Medview Airlines Plc. held their annual general meeting in which they received the annual report and financial statement for the FY 2017.

The company which was incorporated on Aug. 11, 2004 and became a a public liability company on Dec. 18, 2015 is principally owned by Nigerians and a major Saudi partner operates within the Nigerian airspace. It has done exceedingly well in less than two decades as it has airlifted over 3.5million passengers on all local routes of Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Owerri, Yola, Enugu and Kano. The airline also fly on the regional route to Accra, Freetown and Monrovia and has started flying since 2017 to francophone West African cities of Abidjan, Conakry, and Dakar. Its international route covers Dubai, Jeddah and London, and will extend to Houston, Johannesburg and Lisbon.

In the fiscal year 2017 under review, the company recorded an increase in turnover of 42% at N36.961bn from N26.039bn in 2016 and an increase in profut after tax of 63% at N1.255bn from N772m in 2016.

In the same vein, the company appointed two new non-executive directors. They are Amb. Babatunde O. Ajisomo, a career diplomat who is currently serving as ECOWAS Field Ambassdor to Liberia where he has been able to mainstream the country into ECOWAS regional integration programme. He has also raised the profile of ECOWAS within the diplomatic community and international organizations. The other appointee, Mrs. Fatima Ummi Idria has been a direcyor at Tabwa Farms Ltd for about 10 years and also at Khadani Farms for three years. The accomplished technocrat holds a B.Sc, M.Sc. and a Ph.D (in view) in Pharmaceutical Science. Their appointments will further the vision of the organization to be the most preferred in terms of quick service delivery in the aviation industry.

In 2018 and the coming years, Medview Airline promises to fly customers with a great attitude through the latitudes and the altitudes.
