MAJOR GENERAL OLU IREFIN DIES IN ABUJA

Major General Olu Irefin, General Officer Commanding of Nigerian Army’s 6 Division in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, has reportedly passed away.
Irefin was attending the annual Chief of Army Staff conference in Abuja before he took ill and died.
Sagir Musa, Acting Director, Army Public Relations, had in a statement on Thursday announced the cancellation of the remaining activities of the conference and urged all the participants to immediately proceed on self-isolation in line with the Nigerian government’s protocol for COVID-19 and to prevent any further spread of the disease.
Major General Olu Irefin took over the command as GOC 6 Division in July after being deployed from 81 Division, Lagos State where he was also the GOG.
He was among top brass of the army attending annual Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference which began in Abuja on Monday
