Mr. Oki Samson, the organizer of the event and publisher of Trek Africa Newspaper, disclosed in his welcome speech that the theme of the event “The African Woman, Her imprint on Governance and Health” was chosen to put on the front burner the efforts and challenges of the feminine gender as she takes her deserved role in governance and healthcare of motherland Africa. He explained that it is no news that there are fewer women in corporate and political position in the African society when compared to men, and charged women like Barack Obama recently encouraged African women to get more involved in politics. He believes like the former President that we can no longer pretend that politics doesn’t matter. It matters and women must get involved!
