LEGISLATIVE LENS AND DIALOGUE THAT WILL BRIDGE SOCIO-ECONOMIC GAP – Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan

My vision and focus are being birthed long before my aspiration into the Lower Chamber. My entire disposition towards the conurbation of Ejigbo, Isolo and Oshodi, reflected in my projects, works and bid to strengthen the institutions of government. Even though the indices have shifted due to the economic realities of our time and global and national challenges, it remains paramount now that legislative focus and functions should adjust their lens to identify and reconcile the gaps.
The uptown Lagos with the largest concentration of Capital Resources has overly been eroding the best of our Human resources, talents and utilizing economic opportunities that should have improved our communities, offer our young and vibrant youth job opportunities within.
Some of our shortfalls emanate from social perception, insecurity, few infrastructures to support and attract investors, inadequate capital, few and decayed federal infrastructures and those that are existing rarely benefiting the people to mention but few.
In my estimation, political will, determination and expertise are needed to drive corrective measures and initiatives.
During my earlier public service as a Council Chairman, I have assessed and executed these H & C Projects:
* Empowering and Employment within the LCDA for the youth through partnership with Private Organisations
* Sponsoring our youths to aspire for Tertiary Education by obtaining UTME forms and coaching classes.
* Training of 40 abled bodied men as Neighbourhood watch to compliment our law enforcement agencies
* Procurement of small compactor truck to manage waste and make the environment healthy, attractive and safe, while it also serviced inaccessible communities.
* Rehabilitation and construction of street roads to improve road network.
* Procurement of Graders and Excavator to reduce cost of road construction and to ensure speedy completions.
It is my vision and reason of this dialogue now to upscale the previous efforts by representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II.
To Identifying our common objectives and proffering concrete and sustainable solutions through legislation and high impact constituency projects.
