The General Manager of Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel has expressed his utmost desire to ensure Lagosians, young and old, are well educated about safety and best practices on the waterways as well as engage the services of the Agency often. This charge came as Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) yesterday engaged the energetic pupils of Hampton Preparatory School who came on excursion to the LASWA headquarters.

The bubbly children who were very curious about learning were educated about the activities and objectives of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), the importance of safety and security on the waterways, how to embark and disembark on a boat, and how to wear a lifejacket properly. The children also asked a lot of questions, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.

During their excursion, the Hampton pupils also got the rare opportunity of a splendid tour of the LASWA facility as well as an exciting boat ride to see the Lagos Inland Waterways as coordinated by LASWA officials.

Under the leadership of the exceptional administrator, the General Manager, Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, the Agency has assiduously pursued the vision ‘to transform Lagos into a model city with world class inland waterways infrastructure and services.’ The LASWA has also been able to encourage Lagosians to ply the inland waterways and have engineered sustainable investments into the water transport sector.
