The Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, Staff and Students of the institution, commiserates with the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, and the entire Lagos State Executive Council on the painful death of Mr. Tayo Sanyaolu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tertiary Education, Youth and Student Relations, whose sad incident occurred on Friday 29th July, 2022.
The Vice Chancellor notes that even though death is a debt that must be paid by all mortals, the manner of Mr. Sanyaolu’s death in a ghastly motor accident and the relatively young age at which he passed on makes the incident particularly distressing.
Prof. Olatunji-Bello recalls that the deceased was a young, brilliant and energetic public officer whose passion for the young people in the state was evident in the several impactful initiatives that the office of the SSA on Tertiary Education, Youth and Student Relations witnessed under his vibrant leadership. Most recently, the late Sanyaolu was at the Lagos State University main campus, Ojo to attend the inauguration ceremony of the 32nd Lagos State University Students Union Executives, a further proof of his commitment to the education sector. She concludes that the State has lost a shinning light in Mr. Sanyaolu at one of the most critical time in her history.

She prays that the soul of the departed will rest in the bossom of the Lord. She also prays that the Lord will comfort his immediate and extended family, his friends and colleagues, especially those at the Lagos State Executive Council, the entire tertiary education fraternity in the state, and indeed, everyone he left behind. Amen.
