LAGOS TRANSPORT COMMISSIONER, OSIYEMI MEETS LASWA BOSS, EMMANUEL; SHARES VISION FOR RESILIENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM

The Commissioner of Transportation in Lagos, Seun Osiyemi yesterday 12th October 2023 paid a courtesy visit to the General Manager of Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA). During the visit, Trek Africa Newspaper can report that the Commissioner expressed his appreciation for LASWA’s efforts to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance water transportation in Lagos.
On his part, the General Manager, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel highlighted the various initiatives implemented by LASWA such as the introduction of modern ferries, the expansion of terminal facilities, and the promotion of safety measures.
LASWA is committed to working collaboratively with the government and other stakeholders in realizing this transformational vision for the city.
Both parties exchanged ideas on ways to further improve water transportation and infrastructure, boost passenger confidence, and encourage more residents to utilize the waterways as an alternative mode of travel. They also discussed upcoming projects including the development of new routes and the integration of technology for better efficiency and convenience.
The fruitful discussions concluded with a shared vision of a more sustainable and resilient transportation system in Lagos where waterways play a prominent role.
