The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) recently welcomed a delegation from the National Institute of Security Studies (NISS), Abuja, who were on a study tour of Lagos State.

The delegation led by Mrs. Foluke Arigbede, fsi, Director of Coordination and Liaison Services, included Dr. Theophilus Fashola, fsi, Syndicate Supervisor, Prof. Oshita Oshita, Directing Staff, Prof. Tukur Abdulkadir, Directing Staff, and Mr. Murangira John Baptist, a participant from Rwanda.

During their visit, Mrs. Foluke Arigbede commended the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his visionary implementation of the state’s multi-modal transport projects, highlighting them as worthy of emulation by other states in Nigeria. She also lauded LAMATA for its successful implementation of this integrated approach to providing transport solutions for Lagosians.

Furthermore, Mrs. Arigbede specifically praised the high level of security observed on the train network and within the stations, citing it as “top-notch.” This commendation underscores the importance LAMATA places on the safety and security of its passengers and infrastructure.

The visit provided an opportunity for LAMATA to showcase its innovative and integrated transport system to a key national institution focused on security studies, highlighting the crucial role of efficient and secure public transportation in the development of a modern metropolis.
