LAGOS POLICE DRAWS BATTLE LINE WITH AIYE CONFRATERNITY, ARREST 4 CULTISTS, RECOVER WEAPONS

The Lagos State Police Command under the leadership of CP Hakeem Odumosu has draws the battle line with AIYE confraternity, cultism and other criminal activities in the State.
In a press statement e-signed and released by the Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi stated that, “In furtherance of the command’s repeated warnings against the Neo Black Movement of Africa, aka Black Axe 7/7 annual celebration, slated for 7th July, 2021, the police operatives attached to Area “J”, Ajah and Ogombo Division of the Lagos arrested 4 suspected members of Aiye Confraternity on 7th July, 2021.”
“The operatives attached to Area J, Ajah, while on routine Stop and Search, arrested two suspected cultists: Michael Abejoye, m, 23, and Olalekan Quasim, m, 43 at Eleko Junction, Ajah Area at 1.30pm, with the regalia of Aiye Confraternity.”
According to Adejobi, “the police operatives attached to Ogombo Division, arrested two (2) suspected Aiye Confraternity members one Andoh Emmanuel Kolawole, m, 25 and Oluwasegun Destiny, m, 28, on 8th July, 202, at 6.30am, in Ogombo Area of Lagos State.”
The PPRO revealed that, “Items recovered from them include one locally-made double barrel short gun, seven (7) live cartridges, one expended cartridge and some regalia of the Aiye Confraternity.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Command’s Strike Team, Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible prosecution, while he reiterated the command’s commitment to sustain its fight against cultism and other forms of criminality in Lagos State.
