Lagos House of Assembly was on Thursday marked the last 8th Legislative plenary and special valedictory session.
Members of the House took turns to appreciate and eulogized the Leadership of the party at the final plenary and valedictory session. they thanked the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Leadership of the party, the distinguished Senator-elect, senator Bayo Oshinowo, the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa and all the Legislative staff for their support and uncommon sacrifices which made the feat possible.
Hon Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu, in his valedictory speech, “said that he was happy to be a member of the 8th Assembly. He thanked the APC for giving him the platform to contest election in Yoruba land. “being an Igbo man, if not God, I wouldn’t have been here. But with God in his infinite mercy, I find my self in your midst” “thank you so much for accommodating me” he equally thanked his wife, Lady Roselin Idimogu for her patience and understanding during this four years. He thanked his staff and Constituents for their prayers and encouragement.
He further said he was satisfied with the modest achievements of the 8th Assembly which was made possible through team work and determination.
“I want to appreciate the Jagaban, the Asiwaju himself, for his leadership qualities which has been the source of our achievements in the House.
“I want to also appreciate the Speaker for bravery, courage and doggedness. He broadened my legislative knowledge.”
“I came in as opposition party but we were not discriminated against, we were treated well and the way we were handled made us declare for APC in 2017. We are proud of the speaker for the best training given to us” said Idimogu.
Mr Bisi Yusuf, representing APC-Alimosho 1, said “Our speaker is good, he has a very large heart, a genius and a giant achiever.
Mr Adebayo Osinowo, the Senator-elect (APC-Kosofe I) described the speaker as a ‘brilliant man’ and Tinubu as one who made the 8th Assembly achievements possible.
“All our achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the Asiwaju, the National Leader of our great party”
Lawmakers rolled out some of the achievements under Obasa to include passage of laws, the best kind of trainings, the neighbourhood watch and the Land-grabber’s Law which had discouraged the investors in the State.
Eleven members of the 8th Assembly, including Hon Bayo Oshinowo, who was elected as a Senator at the National Assembly, Will not be part of Lagos 8th Assembly to be inaugurated on Friday.
