The Lagos State Government under the leadership of Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has today handed over the newly constructed Staff quarters to the Nigeria Railway Corporation. Now located in Shiaba, Agege, this will be a replacement for the old NRC staff quarters in Ikeja, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.

The project was initiated by Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) to aide the realization of its goal to deliver the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line.

This new development is in continuation of Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to fulfill his T.H.E.M.E.S. Agenda in making Lagos a world class city. The new abode for the railway staff is a 3-block of flats containing 16 two-bedroom apartments each while one of the blocks contain an extra 4-bedroom apartment. The apartments are furnished with ‘bedroom wardrobes, bathroom hot water systems, visitors toilet, terrace, with state of the art finishes.’

This move becomes imperative as the Ikeja train center is being built upon the site where the old NRC staff quarter is. The Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Abimbola Akinajo excited about this new development believes it will further enhance her agency’s task of coordinating transport planning, policies, and public transport infrastructure implementation in Lagos.

The new staff quarters located opposite the Babatunde Fashola Train station was constructed over a project period of 9 months by Crown Exquisite Homes & Property Ltd.
