LAGOS CITIZENS’ MEDIATION CENTRE ENDS TRAINING ON ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION • Trains 300 PCRC members

The Lagos State Citizens’ Mediation Centre (CMC) on Wednesday rounded off training embarked upon to spread the knowledge of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
Speaking at the last day of the training held at Folarin Coker Staff Clinic, Alausa, Ikeja, the Director, (CMC) Mrs. Biola said the training has impacted the basic mediation skills needed as background knowledge for those who intend to develop career in Mediation.
She advised the participants who wish to study further to enroll in mediation courses at Lagos Multidoor Courthouse (LMDC) and Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) to enable them to be professionally qualified.

While appreciating the management of CMC for the laudable initiative, the Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Apostle Kehinde Showemimo expressed his gratitude to the State Government for the establishment of CMC and putting in place, vibrant and professional mediators who work diligently to ensure disputes are amicably resolved.
Showemimo averred that the training was organised pro bono, saying the management of CMC did not request fee or charges from the participants.

He however, charged the participants to make good use of the knowledge acquired and ensure that the society feels the impact through dispensation of justice and amicable resolution of disputes.
The training was held on six Wednesdays within the month of June and July to avoid overcrowding and ensure proper coordination of the event.
At the end of the training, certificates of participation were given to the trainees.
