Lagos State Emergency Management Agency’s Responders, led by the Director General/CEO, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu carried out a post disaster and risk assessment of the affected shops razed down by the Thursday fire outbreak at Kairo Market, Oshodi.

While addressing newsmen at the scene of the incident, Dr Oke-Osayintolu explained that a comprehensive evaluation would be carried out to ascertain the cause of the fire outbreak.

He therefore appealed to all traders and other Lagosians to be safety conscious always.

The LASEMA Boss, however condemned the attack on the first responders and vandalisation of emergency vehicle by miscreants while making effort to manage the disaster scene.

He expressed dismay that responders were attacked in the process of containing the fire and warned that henceforth, anyone caught harrassing emergency responders would face the full wrath of the law.

The result of the assessment reveals the following loss:
66 shops
4 offices
25 containerized shops
Goods worth millions of Naira.
