JUST IN: Supreme Court Okays Hijab Usage Across Schools

The Supreme Court has ruled that schoolchildren could use Hijab, a Muslim scarf, in Lagos public primary and secondary schools, ending over five years of legal battles between the state government and two students, Asiyat AbdulKareem and Moriam Oyeniyi, as well as the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN).
Although the judgement was delivered by the apex court on a case brought before it from Lagos, however, it would be binding on all schools within the territory of Nigeria.
