By Trek Africa Newspaper

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has gained 17 members of the House of Representatives less than 48 hours after political heavyweights Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso joined the party.
The lawmakers, who were previously with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), announced their defection to the NDC on Tuesday, March 5.
Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu read the defection notices during plenary.
The NDC has been gaining momentum after Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the New Nigeria Peoples Party flagbearer in that election, joined the party on Sunday, May 3.
