JUBILATIONS AS APC SWEEPS SOMOLU IN LG POLL HUGE VICTORY • Chairman ‘Dullar’ dedicates victory to residents

Jubilations and encomium is rocking Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, has expectedly led his party, APC to a huge victory across the eight political wards in the just concluded local government election.

In the Saturday election conducted across the 57 Local Governments and LCDAs in Lagos State by Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), APC swept Somolu cleanly with their political broom, declaring Abdul Hamed Salawu as Executive Chairman who Adekunle Ekiyemi as Vice Chairman of Somolu Local Government.

According the LASIEC Returning Officer, Barr. Mustapha A. Abdul, Abdul Hamed Salawu of APC got 9,456 votes, defeating his PDP, Accord Party and Youth Party candidates who are not able to get up to 1,000 votes individually.
However, the workaholic Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu has dedicated his poll victory to the people of Somolu for their believe, support, trust and prayers they keep showering on him with love to excel and return for second term in office. He also said the political leaders of APC in Somolu are golden and he won’t relent in appreciating that for their efforts in ensuring the party members remain united.
Moreover, LASIEC has also announced the victory of APC Councillorship candidates at the eight political wards in Somolu. According to the Electoral Officer, Mr. Kehinde Alade, the Councillorship Election at Onipanu (Ward A), Bashua West & East (Ward B), Ijebutedo (Ward C), Orile Somolu/Alade (Ward D), Orile Bashua/Okesuna (Ward E), Bajulaiye/Fola Agoro (Ward F), Igbari/Akoka (Ward G) and Igbobi/Fadeyi ( Ward H) was won by Hon. Yomi Osunkoya, Lateef Ashimi, Folarin Adegbite, Ibrahim Tajudeen, Mobolaji Teluwo, Hon. Lateef Muibi, Tunde James and Kingsley Ihenyen respectively.
Meanwhile, the Somolu’s Chairmanship candidate of PDP in yesterday’s election, Hon. Fatai Ghazal, has sent a congratulatory message to the re-elected Chairman, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu. Ghazal, a former councilor in Somolu representing Orile-Somolu, while placing a call to the Chairman who he refer to as his brother, said it is the victory for the people.
