Iyaloja-General, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, Hosts New Year Party for Market Men and Women

The Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief (Mrs.) Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, hosted a New Year celebration for market men and women across the country.
The colourful event, which took place at her residence in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State, brought together traders and key stakeholders from various markets, a sector of the economy under her leadership.
In her address, Chief Tinubu-Ojo expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for His protection over her life and the lives of market men and women nationwide. She also thanked God for the successes and remarkable achievements recorded in the previous year.
The Iyaloja-General assured members that the year 2026 holds greater opportunities, noting that she has put in place several developmental plans aimed at improving the welfare and prosperity of traders across Nigeria.
She urged market leaders and traders to remain focused, committed, and diligent in their businesses so they could end the year with positive testimonies. She further cautioned members against violence, internal conflicts, gossip, backbiting, and any actions capable of disrupting market harmony or undermining national peace and economic stability.
The celebration was marked by an atmosphere of joy and unity, featuring music, dancing, merriment, food, drinks, and other entertaining activities.
The event was attended by major market stakeholders from Lagos State and other parts of Nigeria, underscoring the unity and strength of the trading community.
