INTERNAL SECURITY: WE NEED TO SHARE INTELLIGENCE TO DEFEAT INSECURITY SAYS COMDT. CHIKERE AS HE VISITS DSS

The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Anambra Command, Commandant Isidore C. Chikere has paid courtesy visit to service Commanders in the state as a way of fraternizing himself and solicit for robust synergy among others.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command’s Spokeperson, DSC Okadigbo Edwin stated that, “The newly deployed State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Mr. Isidore C. Chikere today Thursday, 28th of July, 2022 embarked on a courtesy visit to service Commanders in the state”.

According to the statement, “Comdt Chikere who started his visit with the Director, Department of State Services, informed him that the visit was aimed at fostering unity and common purpose among all the security agencies in the State.”

 

In his speech, the NSCDC state helsman stated” I am here to familiarize myself with you, I learnt there is a cordial working relationship between NSCDC and DSS as it concerns intelligence sharing and in extension amongst security agencies in the State. My visit is to strengthen that already existing synergy in our effort to discharge our constitutional responsibilities. We need to exchange ideas and work as a team if we intend to contain the spate of insecurity bedeviling the Country ” he said.

Comdt Chikere expressed optimism that such collaboration would prompt coordinated actionable intelligence to actively disrupt any attempt or sinister plans by individual or group of persons whose aim is targeted at triggering needless episodes of bloodletting and destruction of innocent lives and property of residents of the State . He attributed successes recorded by the Corps in the fight against Pipeline Vandalization and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure to the support and cooperation from security agencies and the good people of Anambra State.

In his response, Mr. Enoch David Pawa, the State Director, Department of State Services (DSS) while welcoming the State Commandant to Anambra State, thanked him for the visit and assured him of DSS continuous cooperation. He commended the NSCDC for their supportive role in the ongoing fight against insecurity and charged them to be diligent in their duties.

He said “Without the collaboration of all security agencies, we may not succeed, therefore we must work as one team in quality intelligence sharing as a means of achieving our objectives.
