INEC declares APC’s Bayo Osinowo winner in Lagos East Senatorial District

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the All Progressives Congress Senatorial Candidate for Lagos East Senatorial District, Hon. Bayo Osinowo as winner of Saturday’s National Assembly election held in the district.
The senator-elect recorded a wide margin of 55,485 to defeat his closest rival, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP).
Osinowo scored 145,839 as against the 90,354 votes Oyefusi polled.
Announcing the result this morning, the returning officer Prof. Adebayo Otitoju said ” Osinowo, having satisfied the requirement of the law, having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected.”
Reacting to the victory through a phone chat, the winner, Osinowo dedicated his triumph at the polls to Most High God.
He assured that his period in office will ensure all those involved in the electoral process irrespective of tribe,religion or political affiliations are carried along to ensure there is no victor,no vanquished in the contest.
