The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Igu Aro Festival is a traditional event that marks the beginning of the harvest season in Igbo land and the beginning of a new calendar year.

The university community like other communities in Igbo land, use the event to offer thanks and prayers for a good season.
Maduka noted that Culture and Tradition reminded everyone of their roots, where they are coming from and a motivation not to let their guards down.

The Anambra governorship aspirant stressed the importance of education alongside maintenance of Culture and Tradition amongst the teeming youths.

He encouraged the students to stay focused and determined to achieve greatness adding that diligence and consistent studies availed him the opportunity to be the number one pain doctor in the world.

“I urge the students to support a candidate who knows the value of education and one who is willing to develop the Educational Sector, such that it will be affordable for even the indigent through grants and scholarship programmes.

“My government will initiate programs that will identify exceptional students who are ready to conquer the global world and empower them accordingly,” he said
Maduka thereafter donated the sum of 10 million naira to the University while assuring the organisers of the event his continuous support.
The event had in attendance the custodians of igbo tradition and representatives of the state government. (NAN)
