“I Wish I Had Never Slept With You” — Married Gym Instructor, Dennis Emmanuel Speaks Out as Alleged Affair Turns Bitter

What began as a private relationship between gym instructor Dennis Emmanuel and social media personality Folakemi Martins has erupted into a public dispute, with both sides presenting sharply different accounts of how their relationship began and why it ended.
Emmanuel, who says he is married, took to X to accuse Martins of harassment, stalking and allegedly attempting to interfere with his marriage and damage his reputation.
He admitted that the two had a sexual relationship but claimed that Martins continued pursuing him after he decided to end it.
According to Emmanuel, their relationship began on May 9, 2026, after he told Martins that he was married and was seeking what he described as a “side chic.” He claimed Martins knew about his marital status and accepted the arrangement.
Emmanuel subsequently published screenshots which he said were excerpts from their private conversations; “My estrogen is going crazy that I’m pulsating. It is ovulation day. Are we ‘doing’ if we meet tomorrow? I’m so horny, I can’t sleep. “Asides that, when can I get one for the road, please? I’m talking of a genital meet and greet. And I’m not coming over, maybe e go be for my side or hotel, anyhow you wan do am.”
According to his account, problems developed when Martins allegedly became increasingly demanding and began seeking more commitment and attention than he was willing to give. He also accused her of allegedly monitoring him and his wife on social media.
Some of the messages he shared appeared to show Martins discussing intimacy and asking when they would see each other again. Other messages allegedly contained requests for photographs and complaints about Emmanuel’s lack of attention and affection.
In one exchange, Martins reportedly expressed frustration over the situation, saying she had repeatedly had to ask for intimacy, video calls, meetings, clarity and even basic affection.
Emmanuel claimed that he eventually ended the relationship and told Martins that they would no longer continue seeing each other because of what he described as her aggressive and condescending behaviour.
He alleged, however, that the breakup did not end the matter and that Martins continued contacting him. He further claimed that she and some of her friends began following or confronting him and his wife online.
At one point, Emmanuel alleged that Martins showed up at his residence with other people and that there was a confrontation outside his home.
Explaining why he decided to make the dispute public, Emmanuel said the situation had moved beyond a private disagreement because, in his view, it was affecting his reputation, marriage and family.
Martins, however, has strongly disputed his version of events.
Speaking with Saturday PUNCH, she denied ever agreeing to be Emmanuel’s “side chick” and said she did not know he was married when their relationship began.
“I never agreed to be a side chick and was never aware of any marriage,” she said.
Martins also stated that she was gathering evidence and pursuing the matter through legal channels. She said she would provide her full account when she was permitted to do so by the court.
“I’m currently working on enough proof and doing everything legally. I know everyone has been trying to get my side, but little proof has been out on X,” she said.
She declined to comment further on the details of the relationship, explaining that any additional information from her side would be made available when the court permits her to do so.
The dispute has therefore developed into two conflicting accounts: Emmanuel maintains that Martins knew he was married and refused to accept the end of their relationship, while Martins says she was unaware of his marriage and never agreed to be involved as a “side chick.”
The matter now appears headed for the legal process, where the competing claims can be tested against the available evidence.
