Former President Muhammadu Buhari said that the Chief Justices of Nigeria were all Muslims from the country’s north, exactly like him, when he lost his cases in the presidential elections of 2003, 2007, and 2011.

During an interview with NTA, Buhari declared that his three consecutive failures had nothing to do with his ethnicity or religion. Additionally, he said that the advent of Permanent Voters Card technology was a major factor in his 2015 victory.

Buhari asserts, “I think technology came to aid because I offer people an example when they were talking about religion and ethnicity. I lost every election even though the Chief Justices in 2003, 2007, and 2011 were Muslim Northerners. I visited the Supreme Court all the way through. The one from 2003, I believe, was a Hausa/Fulani from Zaria, just like me. The second individual was a Muslim from the north from Niger State, while the third was a Fulani man from Jigawa State who was similar to me. And I lost everything.”
