HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT: SEN. OLUREMI TINUBU EMPOWERS 250 YOUTHS, WOMEN IN 4-DAY SKILLS ACQUISITION; BENEFICIARIES TO GET 100,000 NAIRA START-UP FUND

The Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, Sen. Oluremi Shade Tinubu, OON continued her youth-centric empowerment programmes with a 4-day Skills Aquisition empowerment training for residents of Lagos Central Senatorial District held at the Lagos City Centre in Sura area of Lagos which is expected to culminate on Sunday, 25th September 2022.

The programme organized by Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria in conjunction with Salico-Prime Investments Limited and facilitated by Senator Oluremi Tinubu will train the youths in various businesses. Trek Africa Newspaper can report that the trainees will also be empowered with equipment, tools, and financial support that they require to start up their business at the grand finale. At the opening ceremony today, Senator Oluremi Tinubu was also celebrated on her 62nd birthday which was 21st September.

Present at the event today are the Deputy Speaker, Lagos House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun Sanni; APC Governorship Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos, Alhaji Are Mutiu; APC Chieftain, Chief Mrs. Teju Phillips; Chairman of Iru/VI LCDA, Hon. Princess Rashidat Adu Abiodun; Chairman of Lagos Island East LCDA; Hon. Mubi Folawiyo; Former Chairman of Surulere Local Government, Hon Tajudeen Ajide. Others are the former Chairman of Lagos Island East LCDA, Hon. Kamal Bashua; former APC Lagos Central Senatorial Women Leader, Chief Mrs. Fadekemi Otitonaiye, among others.

 

Sen. Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by the Chairman of Iru Victoria Island LCDA, Hon. Princess Rasheedat Abiodun Adu said since White colar jobs cannot go round everyone, it became imperative that the unemployed are given trainings to become self reliant noting healthy nation is a wealthy nation.

She said the 250 beneficiaries of the training programme will receive N100,000 each as a take off grant.

Meanwhile, Hon. Rashidat Adu hailed the Sen. Tinubu for her non-stop empowerment programs which has become what she described as ‘ritual’. Adu said: ‘On behalf of the beneficiaries, I want to appreciate our mummy, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu OON. I want to call the project that she does ritual because there is no break. She doesn’t stop. I want to tell Nigerians that if she is giving the opportunity to be the first lady, a lot of things will be transformed and the downtrodden will see changes.’

‘She doesn’t know any of the participants so she doesn’t show preference. She only tells us to bring people forward to be trained.The selection of participants were made at the constituency office. I want to advise the beneficiaries to plough the money they will receive into the business, be it photography, confectionery, etc. We will monitor them to ensure they use the money well.’

Also speaking at the event, a leader in Lagos central senatorial district, Chief Mrs. Teju Phillips remarked: ‘I am delighted at what is happenging today. May God continue to bless Sen. Tinubu for organizing this program.’
‘Women, please vote and get others to vote. If Lagos is like this, then look at what Abuja will be like. Asiwaju, Governor, Senator, House of reps, awa lo kan, bring this thing, it is our turn. God will help us’, the APC stalwart added on the upcoming elections.

Expressing his gratitude for the numerous youth progammes by the Senator, the APC Youth leader, Lagos Central Senatorial District shared: ‘Our mother, Chief Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu has given us a chance to showcase our ideas. We should make use of this opportunity. I appeal to all youths to speak to our friends so that they know what our party has been doing.’

The vice chairman of the party in Lagos, Mayegun Moshood added: ‘This is a very good thing. I am happy that our party is producing responsible candidates who are responsive to people’s needs. Last week, Senator Abiru was empowering his constituents. The only party to vote for is APC. The election we will have is BVAS, it means that as you are voting, it starts counting. So exercise no fear, your vote will count. Tell your friends.’

Also, the Vice Chairman of Lagos APC, Moshood Mayegun believes that the successor to Senator Tinubu, Hon Wahab Eshinlokun will sustain the laudable initiatives.

The Executive Chairman of Lagos Island East, Hon. Mubi Folawiyo noted: ‘This initiative is from Sen Oluremi Tinubu to empower our constituents in the area of training and monetary award to the beneficiary. We are very grateful. This is the 7th she will be doing in my LCDA talkless of other LCDAs. We know that by the time she becomes the first lady of Nigeria, Nigeria will be better for it.’

Folawiyo commended Senator Tinubu for sustaining the program for seventh consecutive times.

 

 

On the zeal for youth empowerment of Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the Coordinator of the project and former Chairman of Lagos Island East, Hon. Kamal Bashua remarked: ‘This is her signature. This is her hallmark. It is a tradition. The beneficiaries are her constitutents. This is to uplift them to become entrepreneurs. Then they become employers of labour. I advise that the beneficiaries should make the best use of it.’

Some of the beneficiaries also expressed their joy and assured of maximum use of the opportunity.
