Yesterday, Hon. (Prince) Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK), Deputy Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, made a resounding statement at the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting in Ikeja Federal Constituency, convened by Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.
The high-powered gathering, held at the iconic Blue Roof Hall in Ikeja, brought together an array of party stalwarts, community leaders, and key stakeholders—truly a congregation of the “who is who” within the APC in Ikeja Federal Constituency.
The atmosphere reached a crescendo as Hon. Kasunmu arrived to a rousing welcome, with hundreds of enthusiastic supporters chanting, drumming, and dancing in celebration of a lawmaker widely regarded as a symbol of consistent performance and effective representation.
The meeting provided a platform for aspirants vying for elective positions, including Rt. Hon. Faleke, to address party members and share their visions.
Seizing the moment, Hon. Kasunmu, expressed deep appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and constituents for their relentless support over the years.
Drawing strength from earlier remarks by fellow aspirants—who openly acknowledged his strong performance—ARK reaffirmed his decision to re-contest for the Lagos State House of Assembly, pledging to surpass his already impressive record and deliver even greater dividends of democracy.
In a passionate appeal, he urged party faithful not to allow Ikeja Constituency II slip backward, emphasizing that sustained progress requires tested leadership and proven capacity.

Setting himself apart in both style and substance, Hon. Kasunmu delivered his speech in fluent, clear, and relatable Yoruba, connecting deeply with the grassroots and earning admiration across the hall.
His authenticity in Yoruba Language stood in stark contrast to one aspirant who attempted to impress with some verbose English grammar but failed to resonate with the Constituents.
HON. KASUNMU DONATES ₦15 MILLION IN SUPPORT OF PARTY MEMBERS
In a remarkable demonstration of leadership and inclusion, Hon. Kasunmu responded promptly when Rt. Hon. Faleke called on aspirants to support the party financially.
He announced an immediate donation of ₦15 million, structured as follows: ₦1 million for each of the 10 wards (₦10 million), and ₦2.5 million each for Ikeja LGA and Ojodu LCDA (₦5 million), totaling ₦15 million.
True to his word, the Deputy Majority Leader effected instant transfers to party chairmen—Hon. Adebowale Adetoro (Ikeja LGA) and Alhaja Stella Kokumo (Ojodu LCDA). Ojodu LCDA received ₦8.5 million, while Ikeja LGA received ₦6.5 million.
The gesture was met with overwhelming appreciation from party leaders and members, who commended his commitment and prayed for his continued success as their representative.
It was, without doubt, a defining outing for Hon. Kasunmu—an exemplary lawmaker, the incumbent, and the leading contender for Ikeja Constituency II ahead of the 2027 elections.
