A serving Member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye Representing Kosofe Federal Constituency was the Guest Speaker at the RCCG. Victory Sanctuary, Ketu during their Youth Conference which was themed; “Youths and Politics”, where He spoke on issues essential to National Development.

Popular among his constituents, Agunsoye described the theme as a fantastic one and he encouraged the youths to step up on affairs of the state and shun all forms of electoral or social vices. “This is a fantastic idea, the youths participating in politics, preparing themselves for their rightful position even though the leaders of yesteryears are unwilling to let go, they shouldn’t allow themselves be used by the politicians as tools for national unrest but instead be participants in national development. Although times are hard and people need to survive still, I implore the youths not to collect money because that wouldn’t make them objective and it is only if they are objective that their voices can be heard. In receiving money, the students and youths have sold their freedom, in addition they won’t be able to tell whoever is under performing his errors and lose their right to demand better representation and leadership”, he stated.

He urged the youths to participate in politics, register to belong to a political party of their choice and ideologies so as to belong to group of game-changers in their life time especially the progressive party; “Politics is a game of involvement”.

In recent times, there has been much clamour for youth participation in political positions in the Country through the ongoing “No too young to Run Bill”.

The representative also pushed the issue of Garba, porous borders and laid emphasis on the need for government to conduct the population census “we were supposed to have our census in 2016 but till date we haven’t. This begs the question, how do we plan and prepare for a nation you don’t know the population and our porous borders aren’t helping, we can’t differentiate Ghanaians, Chadians, Togo, Beninoise, Cameroonians, etc. from real Nigerians. It is when we know the population, we can plan and effectively attend to all sectors, Health, Education and all. Before rounding up, He gave a short tribute to the former Governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu “We are really lucky to have had a visionary leader like Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who has made a success story out of Lagos. He keeps maximising everything and everyone talents at his disposal, such is the case of  Ambode who is transforming Lagos rapidly and many more  who have contributed to the development of Lagos into a megacity” He added.
