GODWIN OBASEKI RECEIVE IGP ADAMU’S AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

Tagged ‘Repositioning the Force for the Challenges of Effective Policing in the 21st Century’, the Security Conference and Retreat of Senior Police Officers involved quality conversations and thorough brainstorming around the security challenges in the nation for the span of three days when the event lasted.

The brain child of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Muhammed A. Adamu gathered security experts, both locally and internationally, the top echelon in Nigerian Police Force and other stakeholders within the security system in Nigeria. It was also an avenue for IGP Adamu to decorate deserving members of the society with awards of excellence for their support to combating crime in the country.

Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo state was one of the recipients of the award. The Governor showered encomium on the IGP saying ‘We appreciate the IGP for the innovation he has brought into policing. We will advise Nigerians to support the police.

He also hinted: ‘We are working closely with the IGP office on our model in Edo state for community policing. You will recall he was in Edo before he was promoted.’
