He took the Zone’s baton of leadership in October 2024 after the retirement of ACM Jonathan Owoade.

ACM retirement and pull-out parade, which was held on Wednesday – March 5, 2025 at FRSC Arcade in Lagos drew dignitaries from all walks of life, political leaders, business Moguls including traditional rulers, FRSC officers both serving and retired, family members, and well-wishers.

ACM Irelewuyi has served the Commission in different capacities with many roles, including traffic management and enforcement, research and policy development, operations and administration.

Delivering his farewell address, the outgoing ACM expressed gratitude to God for enabling him to reach the peak of his career, stating, “I thank the Lord who has helped me navigate numerous challenges, overcome obstacles and adversity, and complete this demanding journey, arriving safely and in good health.”

He attributed his successes to the grace of God and the support of good leaders within the Corps, who helped him reach the pinnacle of his career.

ACM Irelewuyi, however, emphasized the need for greater partnership and support for FRSC to achieve its goal on safer road – fuller lives.

While praying for those still in service, outgoing ACM advised them to perform their duties with utmost integrity, professionalism, fairness, and transparency, avoiding any form of corruption or unethical behaviour.

The hosting Commander, CC Ganiyu Kehinde Hamzat described the retired ACM as an astute FRSC officer who was professional to the core, adding that his meritorious service would be greatly missed.

He added that the retired ACM 35 years of experience, unwavering dedication, and commitment to the noble cause of road safety would still be valuable in FRSC.

“ACM Adeoye has been an exemplary leader, a mentor, and a friend to many. His insights, wisdom, and leadership have not only enhanced our operational effectiveness but have also cultivated a culture of safety, empathy, and professionalism among our ranks. He has dedicated countless hours towards initiatives aimed at reducing road traffic accidents and promoting safe driving practices, relentlessly working to ensure that our roads are safer for all,” ACM Hamzat concluded.
