FRSC Corps Marshal Mohammed Commissions Newly Built Ultra Modern Secretariat Of Ogun Special Marshals

The newly built ultra modern secretariat of Ogun State Special Marshals of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to proffer solution to the challenges facing the smooth operations of both special and regular Marshals in the state, yesterday, February 26, commissioned by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed.

The Corps Marshal also commissioned a building of three office complex with modern facilities and canteen, built by VPEG Energy and Gas Limited for effective service delivery and staff welfarism for the FRSC personnel of Sagamu Unit Command on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

He described the two multi-million naira projects commissioned as best so far in FRSC.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony at the command’s headquarter in Abeokuta, Mohammed noted that the project meant a lot to the FRSC, noting that the two edifices will provide an enabling environment for the personnel to discharge their duties effectively.

Shehu, expressed happiness at the completion of the project and thanked all stakeholders who contributed immensely to ensure the realisation of the dream. He praised Special Marshals’ vision behind the project which he added would boost operational efficiency.

The FRSC boss, while appreciating the special marshals for their selfless efforts, describing them as men of integrity who made sacrifices and were tested and trusted, stressed the need for more collaboration and partnership between FRSC and general public to reduce road traffic crashes on the road, saying every individuals have critical role to play in tackling the lawlessness causing accidents on roads across the country.

“The task of making the roads safe is not of one organisation but a multi-sectoral engagement, in which all and sundry must partake.

“Our 2025 strategy would be more of collaboration and partnership which would bring everyone on board. Road safety idea was more of shared responsibilities. Collaboration and partnerships remained the only answer to reducing fatality on the roads. I implored officers of the FRSC to be more dedicated, ensure selfless service and continue to deliver to the society.
”Our duties is to ensure that motorists and road users avoid crashes, injuries. That’s our primary assignment. Our job is public service, humanitarian and the only way we can project the image of FRSC is by doing the right thing. We are going to improve on technology driven process. We can’t do that without training and retraining of our personnel,” Corps Marshal Shehu, added.

In his speech at the event, RS2 Zonal Commander, ACM Adeoye Irelewuyi, applauded Special Marshals for built a befitting the edifice which he said would serve the Corps in various areas of need as well projected a positive image of the agency.

He urged the major stakeholders of the Corps to continue with their collaboration and partnership in other areas to ensure speedy achievement of the Corps’ corporate strategic goals and realization of UN Decade of Action objectives.

He applauded the Special Marshals for their generous donations and support to the Regular Marshals, which he said goes a long way in taking care of their well being.

 

In his remarks, Ogun Sector Commander CC Akinwunmi Fasakin, noted that the unprecedented achievement of the Special Marshals in the state was a testament of their unity, vision and dedication.

Earlier, the Zonal Coordinator of Special Marshals, Solomon Adeniyi, said the new building had six offices, two big halls and nine rest rooms.

According to him, It also has two conjoined rooms which is designed to accommodate a Clinic. He announced that the building has been named after the Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed.
