FORCE CID ANNEX LAGOS ARRESTS DRUG PUSHER, RECOVERS N150MILLION WORTH DRUGS; HANDS OVER TO NDLEA

The Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Lagos has announced the interruption of an international drug network and arrest of one of the active members of the notorious syndicate as well as recovery of a large cache of substances suspected to be Canadian Loud. The banned substances recovered have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Trek Africa Newspaper can report.
In the press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Force FCID Annex PRO, ASP Mayegun Aminat revealed that ‘On 27th of November 2023 at about 1700hrs, while acting on intelligence, operatives of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (Annex), Lagos undertook a well-coordinated undercover operation leading to the arrest of one Justine Enuonye, a 38 years old male. Justine Enuonye had been on the radar of operatives of the Department in recent times following intelligence pointing to the fact that he is a Nigerian agent of a notorious transnational drug cartel. He was intercepted and arrested while driving a Tacoma truck with registration number DSR 785 HR loaded with 157 parcels of substances suspected to be Canadian loud. The interception took place at Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.’
‘Following the arrest, preliminary investigations by detectives of the Department established that the narcotic substances were sourced from one of their barons in Canada. The modus is to load the narcotics packs inside Tokunbo cars which are shipped inside container into Nigeria through the Nigerian Ports Authority, Apapa, Lagos.’
‘In this instance, Justine Enuonye confessed that the drugs were shipped into Nigeria in five cartons spread into two Tokunbo vehicles – a Ford Ecoline bus and a Hyundai Elantra and they were concealed alongside motor spare parts which landed in a container at . the Ports Authority, Apapa, Lagos. The suspect revealed that upon clearing the vehicles with the cartons of substances, the instruction from the baron was to deliver It 10 one of their network members in Lagos who would dispose them to citizens. Justin Enuonye admitted to facilitating international drug transactions as an intermediary and that he often receives Instructions through concealed phone numbers. The market value of the 157 parcels so far recovered from the suspect is estimated at over one =N=150M’, NAOSNP can report.
In the spirit of inter-agency collaboration and in aid of detailed investigation of the syndicate behind this crime and their International networks, the suspect and exhibits have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Lagos State Command for conclusive investigation. The FCID (Annex) Lagos shall keep tap on the investigation and support the NDLEA operatives towards ensuring diligent investigation and prosecution of the elements behind this heinous crime.
