First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Bags Chieftaincy Title As “Ugosimba 1 of Enugu”

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has on Tuesday honored with the prestigious chieftaincy title of “Ugosimba 1 of Enugu” in recognition of her exemplary charity work in advancing women’s empowerment and promoting social development across the nation, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.
The traditional ceremony which took place during the First Lady’s official visit for the launch of the South East Geopolitical Zone Free to Shine Campaign in Enugu on Tuesday 10th of June 2025, where she was honoured by the State’s council of traditional leaders.

The title, “Ugosimba 1 of Enugu” which means the “Jewel of Empowerment” in Igbo language, was bestowed on the First Lady for her outstanding contributions to improving the lives of women and vulnerable groups across the country.
The event was attended by the State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah; his wife, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Salako, political figures in the State, council of traditional rulers, women’s groups, and members of the public who came together to celebrate her impactful work.

The chieftaincy title represents a significant acknowledgment of her efforts to create positive change for women in Nigeria.
