FG TO PAY FINES OF 4500 INMATES WITHIN ONE MONTH

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has pledged that the Ministry of Interior will pay up the fines owed by over 4,500 inmates at the Correctional Centers within the next one month. The Minister noted that this will go a long way in decongesting the Nigerian Correctional Centers.
Trek Africa Newspaper gathered that the inmates are being kept simply because they don’t have money to pay up. The Federal Government is collaborating with the Private Sector to do this and it will reduce the inmates capacity by over 70%.
