IGP Adamu
Contrary to speculations flying around from some quarters that AIG Zanna Muhammed Ibrahim has been appointed as acting Inspector General of Police by President Muhammadu Buhari, IGP Mohammed Adamu remains in office for now, Trek Africa Newspaper can authoritatively report.
Source disclosed to Trek Africa Newspaper that Adamu is still fully in charge. “The man (IGP Mohammed Adamu) they are all talking about is in his office doing his work the best way he can, he was in his office last night,” source affirmed.
“I don’t know why people are disturbing themselves, though, the man’s tenure has ended but that doesn’t mean he should leave instantly. It’s at the prerogative of President Buhari to extend his tenure if he wants or replace him,” the source concluded.
Another source divulged to our correspondent that IGP Adamu must have known his fate by now. “By now, he must have known the President’s body language, what we heard was President Buhari has asked him to hand over to the most senior officer by end of work yesterday, but IGP was in his office last night. So that tells you that all is still speculations.”
Recall, Trek Africa Newspaper on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, had reported that AIG Z.M. Ibrahim not yet confirmed as acting Inspector General of Police as alledgely reported in some online media.
Trek Africa Newspaper gathered that Aso Rock cabals still searching for a sellable person that can be presented to President Buhari for assent.
An investigation by Trek Africa Newspaper revealed that few power blocs in the Presidency are also pushing for six (6) months extension of IGP Mohammed Adamu’s tenure.
Meanwhile, another source told our reporter that, “May Allah make it easy for us I pray he gets One (1) year extension as IGP because, he is too humble person, always ready to listen to your problem and ready to solve it without any prejudice. I have known him since 27 years ago. IGP Adamu lafia deserves more than tenure extension but award of service to God almighty, humanity and the nation Nigeria at large. PMB I salute your courage,” the source stated.
