Examination Malpractice: WAEC Revokes Licences Of Popular Nigerian Schools Nationwide

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has cancelled the licences of 574 schools in Nigeria due to their involvement in examination malpractice.
It means these schools across the country will no longer be allowed to serve as a recognised centres for WAEC exams henceforth, starting with the forthcoming 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates, which begins on Thursday, April 24, 2025, this medium can report.

The announcement was made by the Head of WAEC Nigeria National Office, Dr. Amos Dangut, who stated that the list of these schools has been forwarded to the Federal Government for further action.
He further explained that, these schools are no longer recognised by WAEC and will not be used as a centres for conducting any of their examinations.
