This gathering is dedicated to sweet memory of our dear mother, Hon (Justice) Atinuke Omobonike Ige, (Nee Oloko), JCA, Rtd, OFR, Wife of late Chief Bola Ige, SAN. She died exactly 21 years ago Today.
A minute silence for our late Heroes and Heroines of Democracy in Nigeria, most especially Chief Frank Kokori that passed on recently.

Though, you lost it all at Tribunal and Supreme Court on Certificate, Age and other claims but we need to also take you up. If Chief Bode George, 78, is always calling President Bola Tinubu my “Aburo”, “younger Brother”. So, you in the Opposition Camp are still in slumber believing he is 84? On his way to the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, he led us in Civil Societies and also Party faithful through Alliance for Democracy (AD), Action Congress (AC), and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), dodging various political missiles being fired at him before arriving at the promise land of Presidential Villa through the vehicle of All Progressives’ Congress (APC), and attack was highly distructive during the #EndSARS protest and later became less destructive but tougher before his victory at Eagle Square during the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) Primaries in Abuja. What about regular call for Introduction of Interim National Government by the Opposition during the Tribunal sitting, which spontaneously took us to the Unity Fountain Square, Abuja, in larger number, to take over the Garden City from Amateurs cum prostesting Obi-dients and we kept the vigil for complete 2 months, from March 29 till May 29, 2023 Presidential Inauguration.
We just silenced the Coup Advocates in our midst, all whom were using the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Nationwide protest as camouflage to be shouting hunger and Dollar problems without knowing that father of geniune Aluta, Coalition of June 12 Activists in Nigeria, is still very much around with its teeming members to douse the tension of such antic intellectually.
In the same vein, our foremost Ambassador in the Civil Societies, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is beating the Opposition to their game intellectually in the area of Administration and we are proud of his achievements Today. Otherwise, the 2nd face of #EndSARS protest through either a regular call for Interim National Government before the inauguration or a recent call for military takeover during the NLC Nationwide protest would have turned us to refugees in foreign lands and the administration of the Country turned upside down
It’s just a running battle with these 5th Columnists that nobody thought of. By now, we should have be grabbling with collateral losses of lives and properties in Nigeria. That was their grand plan but God is always on the side of a righteous man
I sincerely thank everyone in attendance here Today that we are celebrating our victory over the forces of Tyranny and Oppression under the able leadership of Mr President while the 2 different Groups of Islamic Clerics headed by Sheikh Saheed Olaiya and Sheikh Uthman Olamilekan Abdulgafar are leading us in prayer by reciting the whole Quran from A to Z according to the dictate of Almighty God, for total recovery of our economy, restoration of adequate security Network, due recognition of our past efforts in terms of Political appointment and request for Aljanah firdaos for our late Parents, our Dad, Oyebamiji Ajani Oyelere, who passed on 24 January, 2005, 19 years ago at the age of 82 and our late Mum, Rafatu Agbeke, aged 98, who bade this sinful World farewell August 28, 2023, after witnessing the swearing – in ceremony of Mr President. Within a twinkle of an eye, my foster Mother, Florence Ibukun Famurewa, 90 years of age, followed suit in October. May God bless her soul and that of her caring Husband.
They were not only good Parents, Teachers and Warriors but destined to be part of the Winners of Presidential Election. By God’s grace, we will not do this political struggles of 3 decades running that has seen many of our Heroes and Heroines of Democracy fallen on the Road to victory in vain without being part of this historic administration so as to contribute our quota, very soon, due recognition with appropriate position in the Federal Government will be given to us.
For the sake of emphasis, this Coalition of Civil Societies’ Platform had humbly requested for a Ministerial position as best atonement for the June 12 protest as far as Civil Societies are concerned with June 12 foremost Ambassador on the Presidential seat. Remember, the National push for this inclusion started during the June 12 @ 30 World Press Conference that was held in Afri Hotels, Suits and Restaurant, Opposite Defence College, CBD, FCT, Abuja, under the Chairmanship of late Chief Frank Kokori, the re – echo later came with particular reference to me as the National Coordinator during my mother’s 8th day Fidau Prayer held September 5, 2023, inside this same Compound, followed by the September 23 National gathering held inside Western Hall, Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan, of 2023 Yoruba National Day with Representatives of Mr President, General Buba Marwa (Rtd), Dr Omololu Olunloyo, Ooni of Ife, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, Chief Frank Kokori, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, Alhaji Asari Dukobo, Prof (Mrs) Bolanle Awe, Engineer Dotun Sanusi and Others in attendance.
By God’s grace, we will soon have a good cause to celebrate the announcement of this much anticipated appointment during MKO Abiola Epetedo Self – Declaration as 1994 President – Elect @ 30 Anniversary coming up on Tuesday, 11 June, 2024, inside Freedom Park, Lagos Island East LCDA, Lagos. It will be exactly one year of our take – off for continuous push for due recognition of our collective efforts as most outstanding Coaliton of Civil Societies Today in Nigeria.

I’m sure… You ‘ll get the answer”, so said the Lord last year June but His present message is “You have asked, you have knocked, you have sought and now that position is given to you my beloved Children” and the reason for our gathering here Today is to thank Him for His mercy upon us, while awaiting the letter of appointment from President. “No pain, no gain!”
It’s highly commendable that you turned up in this large number regardless of family’s short notice. We all know our media capacity, the news of this great event will go viral in just a moment. By God’s grace, it will continue to be an annual gathering of Civil Societies in Nigeria to further pray for the Nation, engage ourselves as a formidable Platform and formulate ideas for the Government. “Build the Youths, Build the Nation.”
Ongoing reform in the electricity sector is inevitable because it will guarantee stable supply according to the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.
As Civil Societies, we were in the forefront of campaign for stable supply of electricity before any increment in tarrif but with paucity of funds which led to fuel subsidy’s removal by Mr President on assumption of Office in May 29, last year, results of which are now starring us at faces less than a year, through payment of foreign loans, clearing of $7 Billion forex backlog by CBN, continuous decline of rate of Dollar to a Naira and many more, we strongly think that we should give President benefit of doubt and embrace increment in tarrif once and for all, which is far economical than using the same amount to buy fuel to power the generator at home or in the Company
We don’t agree with the statement of our dear Brother, the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, saying “People leave their Aircondition and freezers on unused for days because of cheap tarrif of electricity in Nigeria”. They are free to use whatever they pay for the way they like as long as they don’t byepass meters. It’s never a crime to do so and this should not be a reason at all for increase in tarrif. With the latest hike in tarrif for ‘Band A”, People that can afford it, will still do that.
We must recognise Birthday’s Celebration of our former First Ladies in Oyo and Osun States, Florence Ajimobi @ 65 and Kafayat Oyetola @ 64 respectively. We are using this occasion to wish both of them many Happy Returns! Prayer must be extended to all Muslim Pilgrimages, our Brother, Mallam Abdullahi Tanko Yakassai, Senior Special Assistant to Mr President on Community Engagement, North West Zone, is one of them, in Saudi Arabia for their safe return as well as for the continuous repose of souls of all Heroes and Heroines of Democracy. Senator Fatai Buhari representing Oyo North Senatorial District lost his caring and aged mother, Alhaja Sarat Buhari, just yesterday. May her soul rest in peace.
