DISCIPLINE, SECURITY AND FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TOPS AGENDA AS LASU HOLDS ORIENTATION FOR NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS

The Lagos State University, on Tuesday, began a 2-day orientation programme for newly admitted students for the 2021/2022 academic session. The programme, themed, “Building a Solid Foundation for Learning and Success” held at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, Lagos State University.

The Acting Dean, Student Affairs Division, Dr. Tajudeen Olumoko, welcomed the newly admitted students and congratulated them on securing admission into the Lagos State University, an institution widely acclaimed and regarded for its teaching, research output and quality service delivery.

Dr. Olumoko, in his speech, noted that “The orientation serves as a unique platform to harmonize the very heterogeneous or different groups so that they can come to terms with the ideals of our institution known for excellence, progress, quality and greatness.”

 

He further warned the students against getting involved in all manner of social vices including gangsterism, cultism, rape, sexual harassment, gender based violence, hooliganism and other social vices capable of undermining the institution.

The Day 1 of the programme featured lectures on bursary and financial services, use of library, ICT services, health and legal services and security delivered by the representatives of the responsible offices.

The orientation programme will continue on Thursday
