DELTA CP, AIG ARI ALI COMMISERATES WITH FAMILY OF ONYEKA IBE; ORDERS DETENTION OF INSPECTOR

The Commissioner of Police Delta State, AIG Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, psc+ today expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of late Mr. Onyeka Ibe, who was reportedly shot dead by an Inspector of Police, one Inspr. Ebri Ubi, while on Stop and Search duty along Ugbolu-Illah Road, Oshimili North LGA, Delta State. The unfortunate incident, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report, occurred today 5/4/2023 at about 0930 hours.
Upon receiving the sad news, the Delta State Commissioner of Police ordered the arrest and detention of the errant police officer. AIG Ari Ali also directed that the Inspector be immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Asaba where he will undergo thorough and speedy investigation.
The press release by DSP Bright Edafe hinted that the CP assured that the Force will not condone cruel action by any member of the Force. He affirmed that the offending Officer will be subjected to internal disciplinary measures, including criminal prosecution and thus appealed to members of the public to remain calm and law abiding, assuring them justice will not just be done but will be seen to have been done.
