“Aspirants to any political office must be matured” former Speaker of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Hon Dantani Zadria made drop this hint during his remark in the flag of the PDP GUI Ward Stakeholders/sensitisation forum.
He told stakeholders that the party will apply global democratic standards so that the right candidates will emerge in the PDP primaries.
Hon Dantani advised those contesting for councillorship in GUI Ward not to make it a do or die affair in the primary elections but to apply the spirit of sportsmanship.
According to him, “The change they promised us has not worked, so we will change the change to bring back power to the people.”
He also urged the residents to make sure that they get their PVCs to participate in bringing power back to the people. He noted that the Party hierarchy was aware of the difficulties people are going through to get the PVC but that some measures like provision of logistics will be taken to make it easy for PDP supporters.
Earlier the Ward Chairman, Mr Hassan Fayabwa, expressed delight in the overwhelming response of the residents within a short notice just as the Women Leader, Mrs Christiana Jossiah called for restraint among the councillorship contestants during campaigns.
As at the time of publication there were nine councillorship aspirants among who was Hon Yunana Ishaya
