After concluding the stakeholders’ meeting with Makinde Division, the ACP in charge of Area F Police Command, ACP Bayo Suleiman paid a brief courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of the Oshodi neighborhood, the Elewu of Ewu, Oba Adeshina. Topping the priority concern for the traditional ruler is the issue of cultism, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.
It would be recalled that the DPO of Makinde Division, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu had also mentioned the case of cultism as his major challenge in Oshodi, ‘We don’t have ethnic crisis, bank robbery, student restiveness. But Makinde division has its own challenge which is not peculiar to the division and are not insurmountable. Of note is the challenge of cultism.’

‘When we came on, robbery was prevalent especially along Oshodi expressway particularly around Airport road. Since then we have not recorded any armed robbery incident’, he told NAOSNP.
During the brief meeting, the traditional ruler pleaded with ACP Suleiman to pay attention to cultism in Oshodi which he noted is claiming young lives. Oba Adeshina told him: ‘we surely need you. I discussed some issues with the DPO. These boys under the influence of drugs misbehave, they kill themselves, I have called our Local Government Chairman, let us have regular security meetings.’

Reiterating his stance on the issue of cultism in Oshodi, ACP Bayo Suleiman assured the Oba, ‘I am not a new person in Lagos state so I understand the challenges. We need information. Don’t wait until they kill themselves before you inform us. Hold meetings with the community, CDA and others.’
